about me 

I started riding as a kid and joined the local MTB club – Jafakids (Junior Academy For Auckland Kids Into Dirt Skills) with a Cross Country (XC) race focus and have been XC racing since I was 11.  I also got into Down Hill (DH), dirt jumping and street riding.  I ride as many places as I can with as many people so I can learn from them.  I have had a wide range of riding experience as I just love to ride everything. I started to race DH but I am now targeting Enduro racing as I have found this suits the way I like to ride.  From mountain bikes I also got into road bikes being in the premier team for Westlake Boys High School for the last 2 years of high school.  However road racing has mainly become for training purposes as with other types of riding.  I also enjoy digging and creating new tracks expanding our local network of trails.  For a number of years I also ski raced competitively to a National level in NZ and trained and raced the 2013/14 summer with Squaw Valley Ski Team, California but have left this behind and chosen to pursue my passion of Enduro MTB racing.  I now put most of my spare time into my training when I am not working at the local bike shop, Torpedo7 Albany.

My training is overseen by my coach Bob Tuxford whom I have been working with for the last 3 seasons.  I have a strong support network including mechanics, equipment suppliers, and my parents who are right behind me and provide invaluable assistance and support.
